Thoroughbred Park - Lexington, Kentucky

Thoroughbred Park is located on on 2.5 acres at the intersection of East Main Street and Midland Avenue in Lexington, Kentucky.  It's a small green space with a big wow factor.  The park contains 13 horses sculpted by Gwen Reardon.  There are also 42 plaques which honor historic figures in the thoroughbred industry.

The horse sculptures are life sized except for this little guy.  I thought kissing his nose might bring good luck at Keeneland Racecourse, but nope!

These seven horses are race toward the finish line, one of them winning by a nose.  The sculptures really are amazing.  You can see the wind and the movement.  Check out the artist's site:

A losing view.

These four horses graze and frolic at a higher elevation.

Check out the colt in front of the bushes, bottom left.

An example of plaques that line the walkways.  This one is dedicated to Henry Clay.
